9 But when the people of the land shall come before the Lord in the solemn feasts, he that entereth in by the way of the north gate to worship shall go out by the way of the south gate; and he that entereth by the way of the south gate shall go forth by the way of the north gate: he shall not return by the way of the gate whereby he came in, but shall go forth over against it.

Is a Public Defender Good Enough?
We now live in an era where, through Jesus, God wants to reveal and manifest himself to the world. In this era, God’s manifested presence is not meant to be rare or uncommon. It’s meant to be poured out everywhere. It’s meant to be a regular occurrence for believers to experience His presence manifested among us.
All these things uphold our freedom in Christ and allow for us to experience God’s manifested presence. Until Christ returns let’s keep walking in these things and in our assignment to help as many as we can to find and experience the freedom we have in Christ.
In the Old Testament God revealed and manifested himself at different times, but generally it was limited to a few and limited to one nation – Israel. In the New Testament we see that through Christ, God has chosen to manifest and pour out His Spirit on all people, from every nation whether young or old.
I heard a new one this week from someone who evidently has a lot of superstitious ways about them. They were telling me I should never go through a different door which I entered originally. Instead use the same door you entered through. Well, what did I do? I am a Baptist preacher after all. I made it a point to exit and enter through every door I could possibly find. Then I went to my truck and downed two 32.7-degree Mountain Dews, went back to my office and burned some tires, and then shot some 9mm lead at the silhouette of a deer. Yes sir, American born, and American bred. Obviously, I am not a superstitious person. The close as I come to that would be sitting in the same chair during my Alabama football games. And even then, I just do that because I can. It’s my chair.
But this did get me to thinking about something this week. As hopefully everyone knows that reads my devotions and knows me, it has been a mission of mine during my evangelism to get people back in church. Thus, the reason for this devotion time the day before Sunday. Thus, the reason I call it “It’s almost Sunday devotions”. One of the things that has bothered me as I travel is the fact our church seats are so empty. And this is almost everywhere I go. The same story is told, “Preacher, it didn’t used to be this way”. So, what happened? Where has Gods people went? And then why did they go away? I was at one church that would run 2500 people per Sunday. And when I was there, they had 400 in attendance. I know what you’re thinking. Was it because I was there. I hope not, but I think this is the new normal for most churches. I want you to understand how much this hurts me. My heart breaks when I see this. I still remember the day when our Bus ministry would average 650 people every week. Yet after Covid 19 so many seized in coming. What has gone wrong with our Christians today. God hasn’t changed. Heaven is still there. Hell, still exist to accept people who have not accepted Christ as savior. There is one simple answer I believe. And it is found in the above verse. Please read it again carefully…
You see I think that superstition has moved in unaware. We have given Satan a “place” in our heart. The Bible says, “Neither give PLACE to the devil”. Yet many people have. Some know it and maybe some do not. The Bible tells us when we come before God to come in one door and exist through another. To put it in David terminology it means we should always be able to leave differently than which we come. God wants to change us to fit His mold, not our own. It makes me wonder why so many people can come to church and leave the same way. Same sin in their life, same unsaved nature, same bitterness in their heart, same dirty mind and tongue in their mouth. They enter one door and leave through the same door. I had a man tell me this week that he had tried to be a Baptist one time. And he learned that Baptist fight too much between each other. So, he turned to the presbyterian church. You know something. At the end of the day God wants everyone, despite their religion, to leave differently in which they came. Allow God to change the things that need changing. But first you must enter His presence. And leave through a different door.
