Is a Public Defender Good Enough?

We now live in an era where, through Jesus, God wants to reveal and manifest himself to the world. In this era, God’s manifested presence is not meant to be rare or uncommon. It’s meant to be poured out everywhere. It’s meant to be a regular occurrence for believers to experience His presence manifested among us.

All these things uphold our freedom in Christ and allow for us to experience God’s manifested presence. Until Christ returns let’s keep walking in these things and in our assignment to help as many as we can to find and experience the freedom we have in Christ.

In the Old Testament God revealed and manifested himself at different times, but generally it was limited to a few and limited to one nation – Israel. In the New Testament we see that through Christ, God has chosen to manifest and pour out His Spirit on all people, from every nation whether young or old.

Happy 4th of July to all who live in this great Nation today. It’s a day of remembering how lucky we are that our forefathers had the initiative to venture out and do what was on their heart. The word is called freedom. And of course, many people have fought and died for that same freedom through the years. Just because it begins doesn’t mean we do not have to fight to keep it.

This will be a day of great things like Hot Dogs, and Mountain Dew. Two of the greatest things on earth. Do not forget about the Hot Dog trimmings. Things like mustard, Chilie, Slaw, and even sometimes even a little onion. And did I say Mountain Dew? What I mean is a 32.7-degree Mountain Dew. Just the right temperature means the world. Then maybe kick back and watch a few, can I say frowned upon explosives when it gets dark. Please be safe. (This is how I protect myself. You have been warned). And do not forget the American juicy watermelon to close the night out. Add salt and go to town. Then it is my bedtime to get ready for church tomorrow. Wow, what a day.

I really wanted to bring out a good verse for this day we are celebrating. And I really like the above verse. There is so much I want to talk about here, but I do not want to get off track of one very important detail I think of here.

Look at the very first word. When we read our Bible, we really skip over the first words a lot. But I believe God has specifically placed these for reasons above our understanding sometimes. Our verse today uses the word “BLESSED”. The Hebrew word is esher which means deeply happy, envied, or spiritually prosperous. I do not know about you, but I am proud to live in America. We have freedoms here that no one else has. Work wherever we want, go to whatever church I want. Eat where I want, and of course drink Mountain Dew when I want. We have freedom. And then no matter what people may say about us deep down the rest of the world Envie us. They wish they had the same luxury’s as we do, and who can blame them. And then there is spiritually prosperous. From day one as the United States of America those people put God first in all that they did. It all amounts to this. We are Blessed today because somebody years ago thought it was important to be spiritually prosperous. It did not just start overnight. It begins 250 years ago and even though it has certainly slacked off there are still those people in this nation that have not forgotten that being Blessed begins with God and ends with God. Christian Father, I am talking about you. Christian mom, I am talking about you. Teenagers, kids of all ages, single men and women. I am talking about you. Only you can carry the torch for another 250 years. We cannot leave to others to do. Government cannot do it, schools will not do it, and there ain’t no hope in the Pope. So, we better decide to keep the “Blessed” in Psalm 33:12.
