Is a Public Defender Good Enough?
We now live in an era where, through Jesus, God wants to reveal and manifest himself to the world. In this era, God’s manifested presence is not meant to be rare or uncommon. It’s meant to be poured out everywhere. It’s meant to be a regular occurrence for believers to experience His presence manifested among us.
All these things uphold our freedom in Christ and allow for us to experience God’s manifested presence. Until Christ returns let’s keep walking in these things and in our assignment to help as many as we can to find and experience the freedom we have in Christ.
In the Old Testament God revealed and manifested himself at different times, but generally it was limited to a few and limited to one nation – Israel. In the New Testament we see that through Christ, God has chosen to manifest and pour out His Spirit on all people, from every nation whether young or old.
Made another visit today to the great State of Tennessee. Home of the Krystal burgers that are simply awesome. Pair it with a Mountain Dew and what you have is Marriage Supper of The Lamb food. I am not sure what else will be there, but I know those two things will be. How do I know you ask? Because I requested them. Simple, Right. I am full of simplicity. Today in Tennessee we celebrated the life of one of my friends from my teen years who passed away last week. It was great to see people I have not seen in many years, but it also got me to think about some things in my driving afterward. Where has the time gone? I remember clearly being told as a teen that life moves so fast, and of course it went in one ear and out the other. Seemed to be moving slowly at that point. But now I have blinked and we have buried my friend. Seems like yesterday we were together, but those days are over. And those days we cannot get back. We can do nothing about the past, we can hope for the future, but it is the present in which we can change. We do not have to wait. Let that hit you like it has me. We do not have to wait in our present time.
Moses wrote the above verse in Psalm. That is cool because we do not see anything else from him in Psalms. And God inspired him to write those words, “So teach us to number our days” …
I think we get so busy and wrapped up in ourselves and other things that we forget about the life we are living. Then we blink and something else happened. Then afterwords we feel bad for a few days and its back to normal again. Living our busy life. Moses, I believe learned what it meant to wait. He wrote this while probably in the desert land for 40 years. I would think he learned a thing or two. But what does it really mean to me and you in todays world? Here it is… Why are we waiting? Our days are numbered and will soon be over. No one knows how many days are left over in their life. It is time to stop waiting. Love more today than yesterday. Be a better friend, better husband, wife, daughter or son. Why are you waiting to say I am sorry. Why are we giving in to a world that does not have our best interests. Why are we waiting to get back to church. Why are people waiting to do Gods will for their life. How about this… Why are people waiting to get saved? I will give you a short answer to all this and it goes like this. Because people are not numbering their days. They are looking for the future and not the present day. I too am excited about my future. I someday will be with my Savior in Heaven, but until that happens, I do not want to forget about my present. When my life is over my future begins. But I want my present life to reflect something special.
