Is a Public Defender Good Enough?

We now live in an era where, through Jesus, God wants to reveal and manifest himself to the world. In this era, God’s manifested presence is not meant to be rare or uncommon. It’s meant to be poured out everywhere. It’s meant to be a regular occurrence for believers to experience His presence manifested among us.

All these things uphold our freedom in Christ and allow for us to experience God’s manifested presence. Until Christ returns let’s keep walking in these things and in our assignment to help as many as we can to find and experience the freedom we have in Christ.

In the Old Testament God revealed and manifested himself at different times, but generally it was limited to a few and limited to one nation – Israel. In the New Testament we see that through Christ, God has chosen to manifest and pour out His Spirit on all people, from every nation whether young or old.

Today I would like to start by saying that this will be different for me than my normal devotion in two ways.

First, I would like to give you our verse at the end instead of the beginning. Be sure and take special notice of this as it will all come together at the end.

Second, I would like to give testimony to how this has helped me so much in all my adversities, hurt and pain in the Christian ministry. Please note, the more you do for God the more pain and hurt you will feel in your life. Eventually you will get numb to it all as you move forward. That’s the good news. The bad news is you will not go through life without this hurt. It’s just part of it. The good news is I have made it through, and so will you if you listen to what I am about to give you. I thank my blessed Savior for all He has blessed me with. He has been so faithful to me even when I haven’t been to him. So today I give God the glory for where I am today. Now, listen closely…

As we try and walk with God there are going to be hurts in our life. A lot of those hurts will be from other people. Some Christians, and some non-Christians. Now these hurts are going to feel worse coming from Gods own people. The ones people would think would never hurt each other. It should be that way, right? But that is not going to happen until we make it to Heaven where we will all be without sin in our life. When these hurts come it is difficult to make your way through them all. Many questions fill your heart. It begins with hurt and then ends with bitterness. And when this happens, we are no better than the person or persons that have hurt us. There is no difference between you and them. One of the same as I like to say.

Remember the relationship of King Saul and the eventual King David in the Bible. King Saul would do some mean things to David. It probably begins with just a few words here and there. And then it would spread to David being put from the front to the back of the line. David went from King Sauls table to eating off the ground of cold dark caves. At one time David would entertain King Saul but would end up all by himself in the valley without anyone to talk to. David at one point went from holding the weapons of King Saul to experiencing King Saul trying to now kill David with his Javelin. In other words, the hurt that David felt coming from his King Saul.

Listen carefully. Most people would want to get back at this person causing this hurt. Turn around and throw the javelin back. Especially coming from someone that holds a Kingship of some sort. They should know better. They may or may not be called of God. But I want you to see this verse and remember that this is Gods Holy word. He put this here for a reason. And it was for you and me to see this. Look at today’s scripture…

I Samuel 18:14

“And David behaved himself wisely in ALL HIS WAYS; and the Lord was with him”.

Through this hurt and pain remember to behave yourself today. God will be with you when you do.
