Is a Public Defender Good Enough?

We now live in an era where, through Jesus, God wants to reveal and manifest himself to the world. In this era, God’s manifested presence is not meant to be rare or uncommon. It’s meant to be poured out everywhere. It’s meant to be a regular occurrence for believers to experience His presence manifested among us.

All these things uphold our freedom in Christ and allow for us to experience God’s manifested presence. Until Christ returns let’s keep walking in these things and in our assignment to help as many as we can to find and experience the freedom we have in Christ.

In the Old Testament God revealed and manifested himself at different times, but generally it was limited to a few and limited to one nation – Israel. In the New Testament we see that through Christ, God has chosen to manifest and pour out His Spirit on all people, from every nation whether young or old.

Let me guess? You are feeling underappreciated this week. Does anyone care about you as an individual or even as a human being? Much less God’s masterful creation. Probably most of the planet feels that way some time or another. At times you just wish someone would just say Thank You! Is that so hard. Well… It must be. Because here we are.

The days of complaints and rudeness ae here a lot more than what they used to be. We are people that are so blessed as a nation and a people yet kind words have been placed on the back burner. Only to be moved to the forefront after a traumatic experience or a miracle of some sort. And then we remember to Praise Him by saying Thank You. Do you remember how you feel when going the extra mile receives nothing, or when a kind gesture goes un-noticed. How about those things that are done that were asked of you but now they are expected. And you kindly do all these things but eventually you become worn down and used up where you no longer want to do them. This is called human nature. It will always become a time in your life that you just want to quit. BUT….

If someone just said Thank You. Maybe, just maybe, you could make it through another week, month or even a year.

I wonder how God feels if we turn the tables here. I wonder if He ever feels this same way sometimes. I understand He is God, but we are made in His image. He has feelings as well. He feels love, He feels anger. How does It make Him feel when all we do is complain and never say Thank You. How about this. When is the last time you had an entire prayer time with God doing nothing but Praising Him and Thanking Him? Not once asking anything from Him. Have you ever done that? King David in the Bible did. And he did it a lot. We find one place here in the above verse. I like when David says, “Oh my soul”. He mentions this because he wants the reader to see his deep feelings. At this point I believe David is a seasoned man. A man of wisdom. He has already had many experiences in his life that were difficult days. He at this point has failed God many times over but we find him here not focusing on the negatives of his life but simply saying Thank You from the bottom of my soul. With everything I have. In other wards he remembers to say I praise you in the good times, I praise you in the bad, and I praise you all the time.

Maybe today before going to bed you just take some time to focus on how good God has been. Not what He can do for you, but what you can do for Him. After what He has done for you, is it so hard to say THANK YOU!!
