EXODUS 17: 5-7
In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and thy rod, wherewith thou smotest the river, take in thine hand, and go.

Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.
And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the Lord, saying, Is the Lord among us, or not?
Is a Public Defender Good Enough?
We now live in an era where, through Jesus, God wants to reveal and manifest himself to the world. In this era, God’s manifested presence is not meant to be rare or uncommon. It’s meant to be poured out everywhere. It’s meant to be a regular occurrence for believers to experience His presence manifested among us.
All these things uphold our freedom in Christ and allow for us to experience God’s manifested presence. Until Christ returns let’s keep walking in these things and in our assignment to help as many as we can to find and experience the freedom we have in Christ.
In the Old Testament God revealed and manifested himself at different times, but generally it was limited to a few and limited to one nation – Israel. In the New Testament we see that through Christ, God has chosen to manifest and pour out His Spirit on all people, from every nation whether young or old.
How many times Has God told you No. Is not it amazing how many times we remember those No’s that God gives us. But we forget about times He says YES. In my ministry alone I count all the No’s every time they happen. I almost have an exact number. But when I stopped and dwelled on the YES, I concluded that the more No’s I get the BIGGER the Yes was when it happened. This is who God is. He can and will turn around everything that we think is bad and make it something GREAT. The No that He has given you and I right now just mean that He is getting ready to send a GREAT BIG YES, soon.
Do you ever just feel like you are all alone in this world? Maybe no one understands you or what you are feeling. Have you ever been where you think people have forgotten about you? Or even God does not seem to have time for you like He once did. You think sometimes I have done something so bad that I am being punished. Well, you are in good company.
The children of Israel as they were coming out of Egypt were having many of the same thoughts, we all have from time to time. The people needed water in the wilderness. There was a need in their life, but nothing was done about it for them. So, they begin to talk amongst themselves. They would ask where is God when I need him?
The children of Israel at times could not see what we read about today. God was always there. He was leading and guiding every step of the way. Notice in the verses above where he said, “I will stand before thee.” That was a promise. And Titus 1:2 says that God can not lie. He was going first every single day. They were never alone, but they questioned “Is the Lord among us”?
Here is what they forgot many years ago while traveling to the promised land. They took their eyes off the prize. The prize for them was the promised land flowing with milk and honey. They forgot about what God had already given to them. All they had to do was travel through a desert to get there.
How does this apply to us? We are just traveling in our deserted place to get to our promised land. Heaven. And at times there are going to be tough times, lonely days, and times when we look around and cannot seem to find God. But we are looking in the wrong places. Sometimes He goes before us but other times He is in a different place. Look at the picture for today. You see that board that is holding up that tree? Just look beside you today. God is not before you, but He is beside you today holding you up. So where is God when you need Him? Right where He needs to be. Holding you up so you do not fall. My prayer for you and me will always be “Lord prop us up”
