Isaiah 46:9-10
In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me.

Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
Is a Public Defender Good Enough?
In my lifetime I think I have been told “No” about 1,456,345 times. Growing up as a kid I was told no from my mom more than others. “No, you can’t jump over the creek on your bike.” “No, you can’t shoot your sister with a BB gun,” or “No, you can’t go swimming right after you eat.” She even told my cousin and I that we could not go to the store up the road to get my favorite, Mountain Dew. And everyone knows how much I love Mountain Dew. Well, I bet you can guess what I did in all cases above. She said “No” and I said “Yes.” And every time there were consequences. Even though shooting my sister with my new daisy BB gun was well worth it at the time.
We now live in an era where, through Jesus, God wants to reveal and manifest himself to the world. In this era, God’s manifested presence is not meant to be rare or uncommon. It’s meant to be poured out everywhere. It’s meant to be a regular occurrence for believers to experience His presence manifested among us.
All these things uphold our freedom in Christ and allow for us to experience God’s manifested presence. Until Christ returns let’s keep walking in these things and in our assignment to help as many as we can to find and experience the freedom we have in Christ.
In the Old Testament God revealed and manifested himself at different times, but generally it was limited to a few and limited to one nation – Israel. In the New Testament we see that through Christ, God has chosen to manifest and pour out His Spirit on all people, from every nation whether young or old.
How many times Has God told you No. Is not it amazing how many times we remember those No’s that God gives us. But we forget about times He says YES. In my ministry alone I count all the No’s every time they happen. I almost have an exact number. But when I stopped and dwelled on the YES, I concluded that the more No’s I get the BIGGER the Yes was when it happened. This is who God is. He can and will turn around everything that we think is bad and make it something GREAT. The No that He has given you and I right now just mean that He is getting ready to send a GREAT BIG YES, soon.
Five times in these short verses above God uses five pronouns to remind us of who He is. It is sad that He must remind us so much as if we forget. And obviously He knew we would. Many times, in our Bible he needs to remind us that He still controls all. Look at it this way…
God’s sovereignty
God’s sovereignty means that he is in control of everything, and nothing is outside of his power.
God’s omniscience
God’s omniscience means that he knows everything, including the future.
God’s unchangeable will
God’s unchangeable will means that his intentions are deliberate and will not change.
Does it feel like you are being told No a lot lately by God? Does it seem like you can count all those times? Well, you are in good company.
When God says NO! This just means that God is going to give you a BIGGER YES. And that is our God. The God. The only God. My how much He loves us.
