2 TIMOTHY 1:5
In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.

Tomorrow, we celebrate a much-deserved day for all mothers around the world. It is an entire day devoted to our moms and just being able to reflect on who they are or who they were. It does not matter who you are reading this right now we all have this thing in common. We have a mom or have had a mom. Even Jesus had an earthly mom. Mary would raise the very God that you and I serve. How amazing is that. Even more amazing to me is the fact that God could have done it anyway He wanted but he chose an earthly woman instead of anything else. He chose a mom. So that tells me that moms must be special.
Is a Public Defender Good Enough?
I met my mom on August 3rd just a few years ago (Don’t laugh). I don’t remember much of the first few years but after that my memory comes into check. I remember what a GREAT child I was, (Again, do not laugh) and I remember my mom taking such diligent care of her family. Mom always put us first and did her best to train us up the right way, give us directions, and chasten when needed. I remember my mom breaking out the switch on me many times. All I had to do was scream bloody murder and she would stop. The power of persuasion, I guess. I look back at my life, and my mom did a wonderful job. Because she did one main thing. She taught me how to love God. And for that I owe her everything.
We now live in an era where, through Jesus, God wants to reveal and manifest himself to the world. In this era, God’s manifested presence is not meant to be rare or uncommon. It’s meant to be poured out everywhere. It’s meant to be a regular occurrence for believers to experience His presence manifested among us.
All these things uphold our freedom in Christ and allow for us to experience God’s manifested presence. Until Christ returns let’s keep walking in these things and in our assignment to help as many as we can to find and experience the freedom we have in Christ.
In the Old Testament God revealed and manifested himself at different times, but generally it was limited to a few and limited to one nation – Israel. In the New Testament we see that through Christ, God has chosen to manifest and pour out His Spirit on all people, from every nation whether young or old.
I think of my favorite mother-in-law. Please do not judge me. I only have one, but this is what I tell her. And she still loves me. This is certainly one lady that will have many crowns in Heaven. She is simply amazing. She has taken 4 kids and raised them in such a way that all love the Lord. And that is hard to say today. Her kids are her legacy. When she leaves this home for her permanent home this world will be better off having known Mildred Pease. Her kids love her dearly and her favorite son-in-law does as well.
And then there is my wife. Mother of two daughters. The keeper of four including me and her demon dog. She has always protected her girls in a way in which only a mom can. Always patient, nurturing and loving. To her there is nothing like her daughter’s. She was born to be a mother in every way. She says a lot that she has the best kids in the world. Well, that starts from somewhere. It normally just does not come from nowhere. She has had a major impact on their lives growing up and I am grateful that God chose the best for me, the demon dog, and our two daughters.
Moms are simply Biblical. God made them with a goal in mind. To train the kids the way they should go. And according to the above verse, it all started many years ago with Eve. And it was passed down from generation to generation. For me, my grandmother, then my mom, my favorite mother-in-law, and my wife. And someday soon my girls will carry on this tradition. And to that I say “GOD HAS BEEN GOOD”
