Judges 16:28

IT’S ALMOST SUNDAY DEVOTIONS

And Samson called unto the Lord, and said, O Lord God, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes.

Is a Public Defender Good Enough?

We now live in an era where, through Jesus, God wants to reveal and manifest himself to the world. In this era, God’s manifested presence is not meant to be rare or uncommon. It’s meant to be poured out everywhere. It’s meant to be a regular occurrence for believers to experience His presence manifested among us.

All these things uphold our freedom in Christ and allow for us to experience God’s manifested presence. Until Christ returns let’s keep walking in these things and in our assignment to help as many as we can to find and experience the freedom we have in Christ.

In the Old Testament God revealed and manifested himself at different times, but generally it was limited to a few and limited to one nation – Israel. In the New Testament we see that through Christ, God has chosen to manifest and pour out His Spirit on all people, from every nation whether young or old.

Yelling “Fore!” in golf is a critical safety warning to alert others that a golf ball is in the air and heading in their direction. It provides them with time to react and take cover, preventing injuries from an errant shot. The best case for most is if you hear those words just get down and cover up in a ball and hope for the best. You got to love a game like this. And I love the game of golf. So, relaxing in many ways. My wife even bought me a new golf bag this week. And it was her birthday week. Got to love that.

One of the things I like about golf is when no one is playing in front of you or no one waiting behind you and you can just keep hitting until you get the one you like the best. You know, in other words, cheating. Don’t look down on me. You do it too. Golf is a game of second, third, fourth and if you are me, a game of fifth chances. Apparently, I need more than most. I wonder how that compares to your life. Do you need more chances daily? Well, we are all in good company because Sampson sure did. This man that was blessed by God so much needed to yell “Fore” so many times. And even on his last day on this earth he asked God for one more chance. And God being the merciful God that He is give him one more chance.

With all the hatred going on in this world, all the confusion, and unrest I wonder when God will STOP giving more chances. When will the last “FORE” be yelled. This is just my opinion this morning, but I believe that we as His creation have hurt our God so much, especially lately that it must be soon. Our God is longsuffering, and He is merciful but there must be an end to this game of life.

There are two classifications of people in this world.

First there are the saved people. These are the people that should know better. The ones that claim to love our Savior the most. The ones that are supposed to love period. With all your heart and soul. But we treat each other worse than the unsaved treat the saved. We beg God for revival as a people and a nation one minute and then slam each other the next. Our churches sit empty all while we ask God for another chance. But here is the thing. This could be our last chance. And then it’s all over. God takes us away through the rapture of the church and the nest swing will never happen. What is left is people that are destined for Hell. And that is what concerns me.

And that brings me to the second classification of people. The lost people. People that have never confessed their sin and excepted Jesus Christ as their savior. When will the last chance be for them? Some of the saddest words in the Bible come from God when he says, “Depart from me for I never knew you” There is no coming back from that. There will not be a second chance from that day.

So, when will that day come for both the child of God and those who do not truly know Him. Here’s the answer…

We don’t know. It could be today. I pray today for God to give me another chance to have an impact on people’s lives. To love just a little bit more than yesterday. And I pray for those who have not accepted him as their personal savior. The day is coming when no one will get another chance. Let’s get it right today for a change.
