Is a Public Defender Good Enough?
We now live in an era where, through Jesus, God wants to reveal and manifest himself to the world. In this era, God’s manifested presence is not meant to be rare or uncommon. It’s meant to be poured out everywhere. It’s meant to be a regular occurrence for believers to experience His presence manifested among us.
All these things uphold our freedom in Christ and allow for us to experience God’s manifested presence. Until Christ returns let’s keep walking in these things and in our assignment to help as many as we can to find and experience the freedom we have in Christ.
In the Old Testament God revealed and manifested himself at different times, but generally it was limited to a few and limited to one nation – Israel. In the New Testament we see that through Christ, God has chosen to manifest and pour out His Spirit on all people, from every nation whether young or old.
Many people simply watch the clock, waiting for time to pass. As a preacher I see people doing this constantly when I preach. They do not understand that is why a preacher is elevated above everyone. It is possible to determine whether individuals are sleeping or looking at the time. But hey, I get it. I used to preach in the rest homes on Sunday mornings, and I was always quick to put someone asleep. Typically, most people. After a while you really do get used to it and it does not hurt your feelings so much.
We as people are fascinated by time. When is lunch time at work? When will my company leave so I can go to bed? Is it time to go home now? How about this? When will the preacher be done? He said “In closing” thirty minutes ago. We as human beings place a lot of emphasis on this thing called a clock.
What about this? We like to show God that we are looking at our clocks with life. Even our spiritual world is on a clock. Everything must happen in our time or on our clock. It is just the way we are wired, I guess. But does this not make it right? According to our verse today it certainly does not make it right. God uses the word WAIT. I will admit this morning that I am the world’s worst at waiting for things. And when I say things really, I just mean everything. Few things in life are worth my wait. What I am really saying is I am impatient. I know, it is hard to believe. And I know I must really be bad at this because of how much I have been forced to wait on. But these lessons in my life I would never take back for anything. In my Bible right now, the above verse is highlighted and to the right of the verse I have these words. *MY TIME*. You see, I am just waiting on my time. The time that God releases for me what He has for my life. But in the meantime, I am just trying my best to learn patience and trust. God has proved Himself many times over. I know He knows what is best.
Do you find yourself looking at the clock today? Wondering when that prayer will be answered. Look no further. Just wait. And in your Bible off to the side of the above verse just write these words. *MY TIME*. It is on its way. Be of good courage.
