Is a Public Defender Good Enough?
We now live in an era where, through Jesus, God wants to reveal and manifest himself to the world. In this era, God’s manifested presence is not meant to be rare or uncommon. It’s meant to be poured out everywhere. It’s meant to be a regular occurrence for believers to experience His presence manifested among us.
All these things uphold our freedom in Christ and allow for us to experience God’s manifested presence. Until Christ returns let’s keep walking in these things and in our assignment to help as many as we can to find and experience the freedom we have in Christ.
In the Old Testament God revealed and manifested himself at different times, but generally it was limited to a few and limited to one nation – Israel. In the New Testament we see that through Christ, God has chosen to manifest and pour out His Spirit on all people, from every nation whether young or old.
Sleep whenever they want, all the food they can eat, and all the special treats they can handle. Not to mention the belly rubs every morning when they wake up. This seems to be what they call Dog Life. Wow. What a life to have. If you remember I was encouraged by a divine intervention to get my wife a dog this past Christmas. I am happy to report that the DEMON DOG is still here. Living the best of life. My wife spoils this dog to the maximum. I should win the husband of the year award. It has not been easy at times. FYI. I am still an outside pet kind of guy. Bring the Doberman Pinscher dog for me. A real man’s dog. Yes, please. I will take one.
My wife has told me that every dog has what they call “Their person”. In other words, they tend to link to that one person and that is who they will be the closest to all their life. They don’t really pay a lot of attention to others as much. When they want something, need something, they go to their person.
This reminds me of the Christian life. The day that God took me off the chain of sin and saved me He became my person. From that point on He would be the one to supply all my needs, love me, and get me through the rest of my days. I am happy to report today that I have a person, and it is Jesus Christ. Amen. Can you say the same thing? Do you have the same joy of being able to say that?
But here is where the rubber meets the road. If you and I have “Our person” then why do, we care about what others think or say? The Bible says “In ALL YOUR WAYS” acknowledge Him. That simply means that God is all that matters. Other people’s opinions of us or their direction towards us don’t even matter. We spend so much of our life worrying about what other people think that we forget who our person is. And God is all that matters. This week I almost made a bad decision because I was scared of what people would say. But God reminded me that what He thinks is all that matters. It is time that we stop with this attitude of making others happy and focus on Jesus Christ and what He thinks or says. After all, Nobody but Him died for us. Let us get back to OUR PERSON. I guess what I am trying to say is, Lets live the Dog life! And all God’s people said…Amen and Amen
