Is a Public Defender Good Enough?
We now live in an era where, through Jesus, God wants to reveal and manifest himself to the world. In this era, God’s manifested presence is not meant to be rare or uncommon. It’s meant to be poured out everywhere. It’s meant to be a regular occurrence for believers to experience His presence manifested among us.
All these things uphold our freedom in Christ and allow for us to experience God’s manifested presence. Until Christ returns let’s keep walking in these things and in our assignment to help as many as we can to find and experience the freedom we have in Christ.
In the Old Testament God revealed and manifested himself at different times, but generally it was limited to a few and limited to one nation – Israel. In the New Testament we see that through Christ, God has chosen to manifest and pour out His Spirit on all people, from every nation whether young or old.
Oh boy. Have we all been there or what? Life has its way of bringing stress into our lives. And anymore it doesnt take much either. One crazy driver that will not get over so you can pass in the passing lane. That red light that never turns green for you. Or how about that FAST FOOD drive through that is not so fast after all. The Mental Health Association has reported that 74% of Americans have reported enough stress that it effects their overall health in some capacity. Now we can understand why people are so grumpy anymore. They are stressed beyond measure.
This same stress has been around for many years. Even in the Bible days and the beginning of times. We find Adam and Eve in the Garden stressed after they sinned. They realized they were naked and were ashamed. They hid from God. This is when it all started. When Sin opened a whole new day that would last still to this day. And now it has simply worked its way down the line until it got to us. And until we get out of here, it will always be here. Thats the unwelcome news.
But there is still some hope here. The stress we carry can come from of course Satan. He is working to make Christians fail in everyday life. We know that. And along the way he can cause us stress. But I do not want to give him credit for much here. It is us as people that causes the most stress in our own lives. Just as Adam and Eve did before, we sometimes unaware cause our own stress. In separate ways it is just us being human. We are our own worst enemy.
But can I remind you who does not give stress? Read the verse above again. Do you see that? “For God has not given us” … Our creator has not given us this negative energy and that should tell us something. He did not want us to have it because He knew it was bad. That it would do nothing but harm us. What He gave us was POWER, LOVE, AND SOUND MIND. I love this. I hope you see this. He gave us not one, not two. But three tools to use to fight this terrible thing called stress. What a God we serve. So next time you want to scream “HELP, IM STRESSED.” You have the tools to fight it. So, go ahead. Break out the tool bag.
PS. Will someone please help this poor baby in the picture?
