Is a Public Defender Good Enough?

We now live in an era where, through Jesus, God wants to reveal and manifest himself to the world. In this era, God’s manifested presence is not meant to be rare or uncommon. It’s meant to be poured out everywhere. It’s meant to be a regular occurrence for believers to experience His presence manifested among us.

All these things uphold our freedom in Christ and allow for us to experience God’s manifested presence. Until Christ returns let’s keep walking in these things and in our assignment to help as many as we can to find and experience the freedom we have in Christ.

In the Old Testament God revealed and manifested himself at different times, but generally it was limited to a few and limited to one nation – Israel. In the New Testament we see that through Christ, God has chosen to manifest and pour out His Spirit on all people, from every nation whether young or old.

I remember the days when I lived at home at my mom and dad’s house. Life in my shoes as a kid was good. My mom would clean my room, do my laundry, and even make my bed when I did not, which was every day. I even had my meals cooked for me. My dad has worked hard his entire life. He would bring home the money to pay for all those items that I enjoyed for free. He would teach me how to drive a stick shift, mow the grass, split and stack the wood we used to heat our house. He taught me the value of working which I still hold today. I remember a basketball goal and backboard he made for me one time. He hung it up on the side of the house and I used that all the time. This is where I learned to dunk. Stop laughing. You were not there so I am saying I dunked on this goal. I did learn the game of basketball on that goal and have never forgotten it. You could say sometimes that life was just easier at my father’s house.

I woke up this morning with the above verse in my mind in honor of the special weekend for dads all over the world. For a Christian we all have something in common. We each have an earthly father and a Heavenly Father. Our Heavenly Father says he has a big house that contains a special place just for us. He uses the word mansions. More than one. There are many of these. Some other versions use the word houses instead, but I do not agree with that. First do not change my Bible. God placed every word there for a reason. So, this means I have a mansion with a Mountain Dew swimming pool. Not a house. The house is not big enough for me. But I love the fact that Jesus says, “In my Father’s House.” In our Fathers house there is safety. No one can reach us to harm us in any way because we are on the inside. “In my Father’s house” there is comfort. Everything we will ever need will be supplied. That’s what a good host does. They make sure people are comfortable. And our Father is our host. “In my Father’s house” there is Love that never ends. We are there because He wanted us to be. This same Love will extend for an eternity.

We will all be “In the Fathers house” someday if we accept him as Savior. Can you say that today? Will you be there? It gives me so much comfort to know that I have a Heavenly home to look forward to, where I will once again be under My Fathers’ watchful hand. Let us all go back to our Fathers house this weekend.

Happy Father’s Day.
